Many students worry that taking on a part-time job will hurt their grades. However, recent New Zealand research suggests that students who work a moderate number of hours while studying often achieve better course completion rates than those who don’t work at all. The benefits appear to decline only when work commitments become too heavy (around 20+ hours per week for full-time students).
Of course, everyone’s situation is different. Balancing study, work, finances and wellbeing isn’t always easy.
