We have seen this so many times in New Zealand and Australia. So when you buy always check that you own that piece of land. Use the legal description in all build documentation and the survey plan and if necessary the deposit plan. Or use the actual GPS co-ordinates.

We have seen this a couple of times but it just involved the foundations, and shed placement. It’s very easy done especially in old sub-divisions with lots of vacant land.
