Before you buy an apartment in Australia - Seriously check out the strata management

As 'Property Success with NEW KIDS’ community starts to expand its Australian community. We now start to share relevant topics and discussions.

This should also be of interest to Kiwi investors and owners who have or are considering a purchase in any of the Australian states.

This documentary high-lights issues with how management of Australian apartments can arise.

But also be aware that I have met some smart strata mangers who are doing an impressive job.

For new kids. A strata is an ownership of part of a building. Kiwi similarity to a unit title that has a body corporate.

What does our community think?

Thanks for the video. Wouldn’t it be simpler to buy a house sitting on it’s own land and not have this issue?

@chris-newkids. In New Zealand I have looked at some unit title properties to buy as an investment for our clients. From small 1 bedroom apartments to industrial warehouses. It appears from looking through the sale information and disclosure statements and body corporate. that a few body corporates accounts show unit holders not paying their body corporate fees.
