I don’t think I ever want to invest in retail again. What will happen to retail rents? They would presumably fall if supply and demand changes. But most of all how does a business in a location compete with online (globally) marketplaces?
Hello @Hopefullone. Our clients are now finding owning retail premises as an investment strategy pretty tough to handle. It’s not like the old days where location was king.
There are quite a few lessors (term used in commercial to describe a party usually the owner, not always as it can be a head leasor or sub leasor) who have tenants not meeting their lease obligations, 2 months in rental payment arrears is very common.
